  • Just the dinghy, Jeet mentioned yellow being the standard colour so I changed it, and got rid of the stripe on the inside. Pretty happy with the canoe so that's staying as it is. Looking forward to the video!

    Hmm... The canoe looked different to me... Oh well. The dinghy looks good now. I'd really like to see how the oars turn out. Keep up with the good work!

    Your firewall is very loose, apparently. We can only go on a whitelist of like 50 sites.

    if you bothered to read the whole thread you would have seen that this has been brought up already

    if you give a mouse a cookie. a generic lava boat will only end in you burning to death trying to get from the boat to the shore

    true balance is impossible in video games the best one can hope for is to make it really hard to guess which of 2 choices are better.

  • Once IC2 is happy on the new Forge and I make any necessary changes to port from Modloader to pure Forge, along with a final few tweaks. Bukkit will only be added after the mod is 100% finished.

    It stopped working after I installed the invasion mod and millenaire. Can't figure out why.

    Looking into it, but no issues on my end with ic2 1.97 and forge 164. Haven't tried with invasion/millenaire.

    Oh, and please spoiler your error logs, takes up a lot of screen space ;)

  • This is great! I was about to make a similar mod, I was going to call it the Carbon Boat.
    The idea was a carbon textured boat that wouldn't break and was about 3 to 4 times faster than regular boats.
    The recipe even was the same as yours...

    I even started it, but there's some things I can't figure out in the way classes are divided in MCP 7.x, so most likely there was a lot of stuff missing there...
    It had a lot of bugs, namely after a short bit using the boat, your chunk would disappear and you'd fall into the void... forever.

    Since I never got to make it work, and either I don't go to the right IRC channels or people there aren't willing to help noobs out, so I just dropped it.
    I already downloaded this mod... I think it will suit greatly on the map I'm playing on now (a river goes through my base, and connects to a dozen other rivers and the ocean).

    Traveling through the water is slow and boring, even with regular boats... I figured it would be fixed by a boat that moves faster and doesn't break...
    Your carbon boat is already resilient, would you accept my suggestion and make it faster? I've tested it, and 3x faster is fairly reasonable... 4x is quite some speed...

  • Haven't investigated changing speed yet, but I thought a while back about making carbon boat faster, might look into it again after I get ForestryCider ported.
    1.3.2 basically moved almost all of the client and server stuff to common, and forge uses proxies to hand client-only and server-only code. Confusing at first, but makes sense once you get your head around it. Haven't got a clue about the chunk thing, sorry.
    IRC: #Direwolf20 on EsperNet. Lots of modders in there, and more forgiving than #minecraftforge.
